Register is the quickest way to add items to stock. An operator scans the items, scans the location they are going into, and taps Register. Descartes Peoplevox adds the inventory straight away. Register does not record a purchase order, delivery note or Goods In Reference, so use Receiving Inventory when a delivery has to be reconciled.

There are two Register functions on the PVX+ mobile app:

• Simple Register records the items, their quantities and one To Location.

• Register With Reason also records a Register Reason, for reporting on why stock came in outside a delivery.

Key Points

• Inventory is added the moment you tap Register. There is nothing to approve afterwards.

• You can find an item by typing any part of its name, item code or barcode, which helps when a label is damaged.

• After scanning an item, the (i) icon shows the locations that already hold it, and you can pick one as the To Location.

• You can leave a register part-way through and come back to it, as long as you stay logged in.

• Each user can change the order of the prompts, for example to scan the location before the items.

Before You Start

• Applies to: the PVX+ mobile app, at the site selected on the device.

• Requires: the PVX+ app on each device. It sits alongside the PVX mobile app and shares its menu; operators are prompted to install it the first time they open a PVX+ function. For Register With Reason, at least one register reason set up in the web app (see Configuring Your Goods In Process).

• Permissions: set on the user's role under Users > Roles in the web app, as in the table below.

• Doesn't cover: receiving against a purchase order (see Receiving Inventory), moving stock after it is registered (see Handling Inventory - Put away and Move) and setting up register reasons (see Configuring Your Goods In Process).

Each Register function needs its own permission:

Register Items on the Mobile App

Applies to: Mobile app (PVX+)

1. Open Simple Register or Register With Reason from the mobile menu.

2. Scan an item barcode into Item(s). Each scan adds the item to the list, with the most recent at the top.

3. Check the quantity against each item and adjust the +/- arrows to change the quantity if needed.

4. Scan the location barcode into To Location.

5. To select multiple unique items, scan another barcode or search for another item.

6. For Register With Reason, scan the reason barcode into Register Reason.

7. Tap Register.

The app shows "Items have been registered successfully". Peoplevox adds the items to the location, and the register appears in the device's activity history.

Find an Item Without Scanning It

Use this when a barcode is missing, damaged or partly unreadable.

1. Tap the search icon on Item(s). Anything you have already typed is carried into the search.

2. Type any part of the item's name, item code or barcode.

3. Select the item to add it. You can also select multiple by repeating the search.

Register into a Location That Already Holds the Item

Use this to keep an item together in one location rather than starting a new one.

1. After scanning the item, tap the (i) icon next to it.

2. Tap Inventory. The app lists the locations that already hold the item.

3. Tap a location. The app fills To Location with it and returns you to the register.

If the location cannot take the stock, the app shows the same message as when you scan it, for example "This location is locked" or "This location doesn't belong to the current site".

Leave a Register and Come Back to It

You can leave a register part-way through, for example to look up an item, and return to it later in the same session.

1. Leave the register screen by any route: the menu, the back button or another function. If you have scanned anything, the app asks:

   
   

   

   
   

2. Tap Keep to save your progress, or Discard to clear it. While progress is saved, the function shows an asterisk (*) after its name in the menu.

   
   

   

   
   

3. Open the same function again. The app restores the items, quantities, location and reason you had scanned.

Each Register function keeps one saved register, and the two are independent. Saving again replaces the earlier saved register.

Change the Order of the Prompts

Each user can set the order in which the prompts appear, for example to scan the location before the items. The order is saved to the user, so it follows them to any device, and Simple Register and Register With Reason are set separately.

1. Open the Register function you want to change.

2. Tap the edit icon at the top right of the screen.

3. Drag the prompts into the order you want. The screen reads "Drag prompts to reorder them".

4. Tap the done icon to save. Use undo to step back one move, or reset to go back to the standard order.

You can change the order of the prompts, but you cannot remove one.

• The profile name and site

• The date and time it ran of your issue, with your time zone

• A sales order number that was, or was not, batched as you expected
