Descartes® is pleased to announce the general availability of the Descartes Peoplevox™ 23.06-01 release. Starting with this release, we are using a new, simpler system to track version updates:
The first number (23) represents the year of the release.
The second number (06) represents the month.
The last number (01) is the release within that month.
So, in this case, the 23.06-01 notes are for the first release in June 2023. We hope this will reduce complexity when it comes to discussing feature availability on different product versions.
New Features
New Feature: As of the last release, the new Locations / Location Groups screens are available for early access. If you're interested in previewing the upcoming web app design and providing feedback, please contact the support desk. The team will enable the necessary permissions on your account. Our goal with early access is to run the new UI alongside the existing screens you use regularly. This way, you can share feedback on its functionality and suggest areas for improvement, all while maintaining your productivity (744967).
Enhancements
Enhancement: Added an automatic device software check during the mobile login process. This check ensures that your device's operating system (OS) is capable of running future enhancements that are coming to the mobile app later this year. These changes will require that your device be running at least Android 7.1 (Nougat) or later. When logging into the mobile app, you will be notified if your device's software is outdated. However, you can dismiss this notification and opt to receive it only once per week. Please take a look at the Coming Soon page for more information and some additional links (785446).
Enhancement: Ongoing user experience improvements to the new web app UI based on feedback received so far (744967).
Resolved Issues
Resolved Issue: Fixed an issue with the way picks were displayed on the web application that could cause apparent over-picking and over-despatching. The web app should now correctly display the actual picks and despatches that took place for any given order (773563).
Resolved Issue: Fixed an issue with ambiguous encoding on the XML/JSON files downloaded during the web app despatch workflow. The lack of a specified encoding could lead to differing behaviour between client machines when shipping software consumed that file, which in turn could lead to issues with parsing certain characters and ultimately incomplete data being sent to carriers. The encoding is now explicitly defined as UTF-8, which will allow consumers of the file to reliably decode it and extract all relevant information for generating shipping labels (762939).
