Moving and Adjusting Inventory


The Adjustment function is typically used to edit an incorrect quantity of inventory in a location. An example would be performing an inventory adjustment if an operator is unable to find an item during a pick. In the PVX web app, you can use the Adjustment function to adjust the quantity of an item in a location, remove an item from a location and move an item from one location to another. You can handle containers of items in the same way.


Adjustments

To adjust an item's quantity:

  1. Go to the Adjustments tab in the Warehouse module of the web app.

  2. Enter the item code and location that you want to adjust on the left side of the screen and click Search. The results are displayed in the tab. You can switch between a Basic view and an Advanced view depending on the information that you want to review.

  3. Select an item and click Edit quantity.

  4. Enter the correct quantity for the item in the dialog and click Proceed. The adjusted quantity is displayed in the tab and will be reflected in the system inventory.


Using the mobile app to adjust inventory

You can make simple adjustments to the quantities of items in a location or container using the mobile app as follows:

  1. Tap and select Stock Control.

  2. Tap Adjustments.

  3. Scan or enter the barcode for the location or containers where the item you want to adjust is stored.

  4. Scan or enter the barcode for the item.

  5. Enter the correct quantity for the item.

  6. Tap ADJUST.

Note: You cannot adjust the quantity of an item if it is not stored in the location already. You first have to use the Move function to place items in the location before making adjustments.


Remove

To remove a quantity of an item from the inventory:

  1. Search for the item and location in the Adjustments tab as above.

  2. Select the item and click Remove.

  3. In the dialog, select a removal reason, enter the quantity you want to remove, and add an optional comment if required. You can click Add new to add a new removal reason if necessary.

  4. Click Proceed. The adjusted quantity is displayed in the tab and will be reflected in the system inventory.

Note: You can also remove items or containers using the options in the actions menu of the PVX mobile app. In each case, scan the items or container to be removed, select a removal reason, and then tap REMOVE.


Move

To move an item within the warehouse:

  1. Search for the item and location in the Adjustments tab as above.

  2. Select the item and click Move.

  3. In the dialog, search for the destination location or container or select it from the location hierarchy in your warehouse.

  4. Enter the quantity of items you want to move and add an optional comment if required.

  5. Click Proceed. The adjusted quantity is displayed in the tab and will be reflected in the system inventory.

Note: You can also move items or containers using the options in the actions menu of the PVX mobile app. In each case, scan the items or container to be removed, select a removal reason, and then tap MOVE.
