Descartes® is pleased to announce the general availability of the Descartes Peoplevox™ 23.10-02 release. This is the final release this year as we prepare for peak season and includes the event subscription changes for the new returns authorisation functionality, the first version of the new returns workflow (supporting authorisations), as well as some bugfixes and improvements related to the Android™ sync process.
The new returns functionality is an extension to the existing returns add-on for Peoplevox. The goal of this first version of returns is to provide access for integration partners that are interested in connecting returns portals to Peoplevox, and to help streamline the existing returns workflow. If you are a frequent user of the returns functionality today, you can try the new workflow by enabling the "Preview beta" permission under the roles tab. If you are not currently a user of the returns module but are expecting to receive a lot of returns over the coming months and are interested in exploring how this functionality will help you handle that volume, please reach out to the service desk.
The new beta returns workflow delivers several benefits:
The new streamlined workflow removes the need to enter notes and comments during the return process itself. All you need to do is scan the order/RMA and the item, enter a reason and a condition, and scan the item into a location
This new workflow is also intended to be entirely scanner-driven - operators can perform the entire process from start to finish without using a keyboard or mouse, which helps to ensure that each return is processed quickly and accurately
The new workflow is separated from the view on prior returns, which allows you to further control access to historical returns data, and helps to keep users focused on the task at hand
With the addition of return authorisations, it is now possible to process returns for orders that did not originate in Peoplevox - simply scan the RMA number in place of the sales order, and follow the steps on the screen
Tip: The new UI beta for the Locations screen is now available for all users. If you would like to try the new UI, please enable the "Preview beta" permission via the Roles tab.
New Features
New Feature: The new beta returns workflow on the web app is now available. See above for a summary of the new feature. Please note that this workflow is still in beta, and some additional features and functionality will be available in the January release. For a more detailed breakdown of what is included in the beta version, please take a look at the documentation here (735951).
Enhancements
Enhancement: With this release, two-factor authentication will be made mandatory for privileged users of the web application. A privileged user is anyone who has the ability to create or modify other users or roles. Note that this only applies to web app users, and only users with those permissions. Mobile users and other web app users that do not have access to the roles or users tabs are unaffected (923340).
Enhancement: Several back-end improvements to the Android sync process in preparation for the peak period (914856, 909287).
Note: For a longer-term view of the changes coming to the system, particularly those that impact integrations, please take a look at the Coming Soon section:
