Descartes® is pleased to announce the latest Peoplevox release. In this release, we are fixing several bugs across the web and mobile, and also preparing for a new release of the print client that will be able to automatically update itself in the future, to allow for further development. Below, you will find a summary of everything included, grouped by category so you can easily focus on what is most relevant to you. Migration to New UI - Stock Take, Cycle Count, Variance Approval
We are continuing to roll out the new UI for web and mobile. Our current focus is on stock take and cycle count, as well as variance approval. Thank you for the feedback on the screens so far, we are currently working on the next round of improvements to those screens based on that feedback.
Action Creation Improvements
🟪 We have completed several back-end improvements to the order search functionality. We will be rolling these changes out gradually over the coming releases, which will provide better performance and a more stable search experience, particularly in periods of heavy order volumes. (1256436)
Other Improvements
🟪 A new version of the print client will be available soon. We will be making this available in a phased approach,with the goal of updating all existing print client installations to the latest version. The primary benefit of the new print client is its ability to update automatically, allowing us to deliver future improvements, such as faster printing performance, bug fixes, and additional enhancements, without impacting your operations. If you plan to set up new pack stations that require a print client in the near future, please contact us so we can provide the latest installer file in advance. (1430824)
🟪 The stock take variance approval workflow on mobile is now available in the activity history list, allowing you to view your recent approval activity on the device. (1437988)
🟪 The PVX+ mobile app now supports the ability to configure the order of components on the screen during the register workflow. This allows you to rearrange the prompts, for example to switch the item and location prompt, depending on which works best for your operation. This update also establishes the foundation for supporting similar configuration options in additional PVX+ workflows in the future. (1395731)
🟪 We are rolling out some recent improvements to the reporting module, to improve the reliability of several reports. Specifically, these improvements will prevent reporting data being temporarily lost in the event of a network interruption. In the past, these missing messages were automatically fixed as part of an end-of-day process, but will now be immediately resolved. (1390695)
Resolved Issues
🟩 We resolved an issue that could cause some cancelled orders to show as "new" if they were reimported via an integration after cancellation. These orders will now remain cancelled. (1460730)
🟩 We resolved an issue with the mechanism responsible for tracking changes to availability, that could incorrectly classify "despatch" events as belonging to goods receipt. This mechanism is used in several places, which means that this fix will resolve the incorrect description on the incremental changes report, as well as on availability event subscriptions. (1354965)
🟩 We resolved an issue with inventory movements on the mobile app that could lead to an error message, "Item cannot be found in selected location. Please try a different location". The issue should now be fixed, and this error message should no longer appear. We will continue to monitor logs to confirm that there are no other scenarios in which this issue can manifest. Action Creation Improvements
Action creation continues to evolve as we drive toward more configurable and more flexible options for batching orders and automating manual processes.
🟦 We plan to extend this new action creation (including the scheduling component) to other warehouse activities as well, including put away, replenishment and more in the future.
Extended User Activity Reporting
🟦 We are continuing to develop the new user activity report designed to standardize metrics across different warehouse activities. Our goal is to provide you with tools to measure performance, establish benchmarks, and track KPIs for warehouse operators.
Auto-Updating Print Client
🟦 The new version of the print client will be able to automatically update itself, which will allow us to push fixes and improvements without disrupting your operation. The initial installation will be a manual upgrade, but it will then be able to keep itself updated after that. We will share an installation guide for the new client soon.
