Release Notes - Version 5.8.4.143(104)

In this release, we're working on some internal upgrades that will help us make sure we're prepared for the increased system usage over the upcoming peak season.

We're also working to reduce the impact of new system releases on your operation, by reworking some parts (like action creation) to make sure you won't be interrupted if you're in the middle of creating actions when we release a new version.

Enhancements

  • We're rolling out some changes to minimise the disruption caused by new releases - specifically if you're in the middle of creating a batch of containers or actions, that will no longer be interrupted when we release an update to you (9498, 9499).
  • An update to our updater, to keep the app on the front foot with Google Play's latest best practice guide around permissions and downloading files (11907).
  • We've made some big improvements to the way the system handles the movement of inventory that's been received on a PO. This will attack a number of rare and one-off issues that we've seen reported around stock movements (12220).
  • We've fixed a number of performance problems with the "Slow moving stock" report. You'll get results on this report much faster now. You can use this report to help identify your fast- and slow-movers in the run-up to peak (12390).
  • We're continuing to build and train more testing robots, so we can dedicate more humans to preparing for peak (12458).
  • We've rolled up a few minor enhancements related to the way the Android sync handles failed syncs, which will give you a generally more reliable Android experience (12995).
  • We're continuing to work hard on the Android sync process - we've made some big changes to ensure that we can scale up the number of connected devices as we head into peak, and we've managed to improve sync speed across the board too. The upshot is you'll see your picks and stock movements getting registered on the web app more rapidly as we continue to build on this (12519).
  • We're beefing up the web app side of the system too, starting with some improvements to help the system scale up when there are a large number of operators all checking the current stock levels in the system. We found a couple of places where this could have a knock-on effect on system performance, which we've addressed here (13004).

Bugfixes

  • Fixed a bug that could interfere with carrier label printing when we needed to obtain labels from multiple systems at once (13006).
