Hi everyone, a more feature-driven release this week - we've been working on a couple of requests that we've seen come in from a number of users; as always with changes like these we're keen to hear what you think, so please feel free to get in touch via the helpdesk if you have any suggestions for improvements.
Enhancements:
- We've improved the way the returns process works on Android so that it now operates in online mode where possible, which allows us to offer more useful feedback and validation at the point of barcode scanning. You can still use it in the current offline mode, but we've had a few requests for some more immediate feedback to operators (14402).
- We've enhanced the import process for product data to allow you to change your item codes via CSV / API integrations if necessary. You can do this by using the new "External ID" field on the item types template. We'll use the External ID as the unique identifier for the item if you provide it on the file, which lets you assign a new item code. This is a completely optional addition that won't affect your uploads or integrations unless you choose to make use of it, and you'll still use your item code to specify the item on things like sales order item lines., but it'll help you in situations where you might need to do a bulk-update of SKU data (19230).
- We've added some additional logging to the goods receipt process to give us better visibility on individual transactions, which will help us investigate any queries around purchase order receipt (18096).
