Auto-Updating Print Client

🟨 The new Print Client is now generally available, and we encourage you to upgrade to the latest version. This release introduces automatic updates, allowing fixes and improvements to be delivered without disrupting operations. The initial upgrade must be completed manually, but after installation, the client will update automatically. You can find the installation guide and download link for the new print client in Setting Up Printers in PVX.

You can also download the new print client directly from the web application, by navigating to the Print Client page, and clicking the download link.

Note: We are asking all users to upgrade to the new print client as soon as possible, ahead of the Black Friday / Cyber Monday peak period. Then everyone is on the new version before this busy time, and we can deploy critical patches and fixes quickly, if needed. To help ensure uninterrupted printing, we encourage you to upgrade as soon as you can.

Archiving of Older Movement History

🟨 To keep the system performing well as your data grows, we are beginning to archive item movement history that is more than three years old. Archiving is being enabled gradually, account by account, and each step is monitored closely before we move on to the next. Archived movements remain available to you through a dedicated Item movement history - Archive report, which is enabled on your account at the same time as archiving. No other data is affected, and no action is required on your part.

Pick and Sort to Trolley Improvements

🟪 Mobile operators using the Pick and sort to trolley activity can now resume a part-picked action by scanning one of its totes, or the trolley barcode, from the action list. This is designed for shift changes and handovers: the operator taking over scans any tote on the trolley and is taken straight into the action, which is locked to them, with the picked quantities exactly as they were left. If two open actions are found picking into the same tote, the operator is asked to choose which one to continue. The operator taking over must hold the Unlock Action Group permission. This option is controlled by a new setting, which is off by default; if you would like it enabled for your account, please contact Descartes Customer Support. (1579644)

🟪 We have made warnings, pick IDs and quantities easier to see on the Pick and sort to trolley pick screen. Warning messages, such as when a tote is already in use for another sales order, now appear in a clearly highlighted band; the Pick ID is shown on each pick card and in the Pick Summary; and the quantity badge is highlighted in amber whenever more than one of an item needs to be picked. (1580567)

Action Creation Improvements

🟪 The new Create actions page now offers three additional sales order filter properties: Destination region (the region or state of the shipping address), Allow partial shipment and Total sale. An is not empty operator is also available for every property that offers is empty. The new properties can be used in User filters and Action profiles in the same manner as the existing ones. (1625640)

Add Condition dialog on the Create action(s) page with Destination region selected and the is not empty search method

🟪 We have improved the performance of action creation, particularly when creating actions for a large backlog of sales orders, as part of our preparations for the Black Friday / Cyber Monday peak period. Further improvements to the speed of very large action creations are being enabled account by account over the coming weeks. (1594247, 1627786)

🟪 We have made action creation more resilient. In the unlikely event that an action creation is interrupted before it completes, the system now recognises this automatically, so that it can be resolved quickly and the affected sales orders remain available to your action profiles. (1563576)

🟪 The View action page now shows the Comments field for replenishment actions. (1643295)

New Home Page

🟪 After logging in to the web application, you will now land on a new, lightweight Home page instead of the Suppliers page. The Home page shows a greeting, the current application version, links to help, the service desk and the Ideas Portal, and quick links to the areas of the system you have access to. (1625014)

Other Improvements

🟪 We have improved the performance of the Despatched items by package v5 report when filtering by Sales order number. The report returns the same results as before, but considerably faster for sites with a large despatch history. (1614814)

🟪 We have improved the stability of the Integration API during high-volume sales order imports, as part of our preparations for the Black Friday / Cyber Monday peak period. (1623281)

🟪 We have improved the performance of mobile synchronisation for failed actions, reducing the load placed on the system by devices that synchronise frequently. (1628340)

Resolved Issues

🟩 We resolved an issue with the Item inventory summary all sites report that could return more than one line for the same product. This affected both the report in the web application and the same report retrieved through the Integration API. (1585462)

🟩 We resolved an issue with the Item movement history report where some despatch movements could be missing if the despatch was interrupted before it finished. A despatch is now saved completely or not at all, so its movements always appear in the report. (1593897)

🟩 We resolved an issue with the mobile Pick and sort to trolley activity where the Pick and ship button could revert to Pick for every order in an action if the Stop ship flag was added to one of the orders after picking had started. (1563565)

🟩 We resolved an issue with the PVX mobile app (versions 218 and 219) that could prevent newly created actions from being shown on the device. (1622841)

EU Customs Changes from 1 November

🟨 From 1 November 2026, every parcel sold to a consumer in the EU from outside the EU must declare three product identifiers for each item it contains. Your shipping provider sends these to customs, but they can only send what is held in your Peoplevox product data, so missing or incorrect identifiers can lead to a parcel being held or a declaration being rejected. The three identifiers, and where they come from in Peoplevox, are:

  • Your own product code, such as your SKU. In Peoplevox, this is the Item code.

  • The manufacturer's product code, such as a model or part number. In Peoplevox, this is the Manufacturer item number on the item.

  • A standard product code, such as an EAN, UPC, GTIN or ISBN, wherever the manufacturer has one. In Peoplevox, this is the Item barcode. Not every product has one; where it doesn't, that has to be declared rather than left blank.

The same reform also introduced a €3 duty per item on parcels up to €150, in force since 1 July 2026, and adds a €2 handling fee per item from 1 November. Both are charged per customs item, which is determined by HS code, description and country of origin, so those fields now affect what you pay.

Note: We have been working with shipping integrators to make sure these Peoplevox fields are mapped correctly. If you ship to consumers in the EU, please check that these fields are populated for your products before 1 November, and contact your shipping integrator with any questions about how your shipments are declared.

🟪 Our Metapack integration can now send the Manufacturer item number and Item barcode as the manufacturer and standard product identifiers on each product line of a consignment. This change has already been made available to Metapack users ahead of the 1 November deadline, and is enabled per account. If you ship to consumers in the EU through Metapack and have not yet discussed this with us, please contact Descartes Customer Support. (1631090)

Preview of Changes Coming Soon

Retiring Legacy Screens

Over the past year we have rebuilt a number of screens in the new web UI and in PVX+, and in most cases the legacy versions are now only kept for compatibility. We have already retired some legacy screens, such as Locations and web Returns, and in the new year we plan to continue with the next group of screens that have a full replacement:

  • Legacy Put away on mobile

  • Legacy Returns on mobile

  • Legacy Register on mobile

  • Legacy Stock take and Variance approval on the web application

🟦 We will not retire any screen before the Black Friday / Cyber Monday peak period, and nothing will be switched off until we have confirmed that the replacement covers everything the legacy screen did and have addressed the feedback already raised. We will confirm the exact screens and dates in the release notes ahead of each change, so you have time to move any remaining processes across.

Tip: If your operation still relies on one of these legacy screens, or there is something the new version does not yet do for you, please tell us now through the Ideas Portal so we can take it into account before anything changes.

Action Creation Improvements

Action creation continues to evolve as we drive toward more configurable and more flexible options for batching orders and automating manual processes.

🟦 We plan to extend the new action creation (including the scheduling component) to other warehouse activities, including put away, replenishment and more.

Batch and Expiry Tracking

🟦 Batch and expiry tracking has been on our roadmap for a long time, and we're excited to be in a position to kick off this project soon. The recent work on PVX+ has given us a lot of the foundation that we will need for the mobile changes, and the work that we have been doing on action creation will give us the tools to support things like first-expiry-first-out (FEFO) picking. Keep an eye on release notes for updates and timelines as soon as we have them.
