Descartes® is pleased to announce the general availability of the Descartes Peoplevox™ 9.2.0 (173/19) release. The release includes enhancements and bug fixes that are designed to improve system performance and services. In the release notes below, a brief description of each enhancement and bug fix is provided.
This second release of the year includes many improvements from the last few months of 2022. We are continuing the rollout of the new login workflow, deploying several enhancements to system security and fixing a wide range of bugs reported by users.
In particular, we are adding several new validation rules to newly created or changed passwords to ensure that they are secure and meet a minimum degree of complexity. These new password rules will be enforced when a user creates or changes a password but will not impact passwords currently in use.
Additionally, this release deploys a significant amount of groundwork to pave the way for some upcoming feature improvements to:
The new login workflow
A new, modernized UI for the web application
An updated and improved put away feature
Those features are not quite ready for release just yet, but we aim to share them with you soon.

Enhancements
Enhancement: Password security has been enhanced by enforcing two new validation rules on new passwords. All new passwords must be a minimum of 12 characters long. Additionally, new passwords will be checked against a list of the most commonly used passwords, to ensure that they are not easily guessable. (669214)Enhancement: Continued to roll out a large number of back-end security improvements. (588323)Enhancement: Implemented a change on the PVX+ app to prevent the keyboard from showing by default every time the cursor enters a scan box. The app will now be smarter about when it displays the keyboard, so it will be hidden on prompts that typically expect a barcode scan but show on inputs where the user would typically type (e.g., in searches / filters / numerical steppers). The user can force the keyboard to show by tapping on the input a second time. (728302)
Resolved Issues
Resolved Issue: Fixed a bug that could cause the same package number to be reused on multiple packages for an order. For example, both the first and second package would be assigned "package number 1". With this fix, the package number should correctly increment for each package shipped against an order. (360603)
